Census 2027 के Phase-I के तहत Houselisting and Housing Census field operations Himachal Pradesh में शुरू हुए। Kerala और Nagaland में self-enumeration शुरू हुआ, जो 30 June 2026 तक उपलब्ध रहेगा। Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Puducherry और Uttar Pradesh में house-to-house field operations चल रहे थे। सरकार ने बताया कि 23 States और Union Territories ने Census 2027 का पहला चरण पूरा कर लिया है।
