Census 2027 Phase-I Operations Progress Across States

Houselisting and Housing Census field operations began in Himachal Pradesh, while self-enumeration started in Kerala and Nagaland.

Field operations for the Houselisting and Housing Census under Phase-I of Census 2027 commenced in Himachal Pradesh. Self-enumeration began in Kerala and Nagaland and will remain available till 30 June 2026. House-to-house field operations were also underway in Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Puducherry and Uttar Pradesh. The government stated that 23 States and Union Territories had completed the first phase of Census 2027.
