WPI का Base Year बदलकर 2022-23 किया गया

सरकार ने Wholesale Price Index का base year 2011-12 से बदलकर 2022-23 करने को मंजूरी दी।

DPIIT के तहत Office of Economic Adviser 15 June 2026 को 2022-23 base year वाली revised WPI series जारी करेगा। नई series में items की संख्या 697 से बढ़ाकर 957 की गई है और electricity group में solar तथा wind जैसे renewable energy sources को शामिल किया गया है। सरकार Output Producer Price Index, Trial Input Producer Price Index और कुछ services के लिए Service Producer Price Index भी जारी करेगी। यह बदलाव inflation measurement, price escalation clauses और economic policy analysis के लिए महत्वपूर्ण माना जा रहा है।
