MoSPI Releases Report on IIP Base Year Revision

MoSPI released the report on revising the base year of the Index of Industrial Production from 2011-12 to 2022-23.

The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation released the Technical Advisory Committee report on revising the base year of the All-India Index of Industrial Production. The new IIP series will use 2022-23 as the base year instead of 2011-12. The first release under the revised series is scheduled from June 2026. IIP is a major indicator used to measure industrial activity in India.
