Ministry of Commerce and Industry ने May 2026 के लिए Index of Eight Core Industries जारी किया। संयुक्त सूचकांक May 2025 की तुलना में 0.5% बढ़ा। Steel, Cement और Electricity में सकारात्मक वृद्धि दर्ज हुई, जबकि Coal, Crude Oil, Natural Gas, Refinery Products और Fertilizers में गिरावट रही। April-May 2026-27 के दौरान संचयी वृद्धि अस्थायी आधार पर 1.1% रही। यह सूचकांक महत्वपूर्ण है क्योंकि आठ कोर क्षेत्रों का Index of Industrial Production में बड़ा भार होता है।
