Record Foodgrain Production Estimated for 2025-26

India’s total foodgrain production for 2025-26 was estimated at a record 376.563 million tonnes.

The Third Advance Estimates of major agricultural crops for 2025-26 projected India’s total foodgrain production at 376.563 million tonnes. This is higher than the previous year’s production of 357.732 million tonnes. Rice production was estimated at 154.024 million tonnes, while wheat production was projected at 120.657 million tonnes. The estimates are important for questions on agriculture, food security, inflation and rural economy.
