RBI Forms Q-SAFE Expert Committee

The Reserve Bank of India constituted an expert committee to study quantum technology risks and opportunities in the financial sector.

The RBI constituted an expert committee under the Quantum Secure and Adaptive Financial Ecosystem initiative. The committee is led by Dr Anil Prabhakar of IIT Madras and will assess quantum technology’s impact on banking, payments and financial cybersecurity. It will study cryptographic risks, vendor readiness and global regulatory practices. The panel is expected to recommend a roadmap for making India’s financial ecosystem quantum-secure.
