Radio study uncovers faint black hole activity in nearby galaxies
A high-resolution radio study revealed a widespread population of faintly active black holes in nearby galaxies. The finding improves understanding of galaxy evolution and hidden black hole activity in the local Universe.
The study is important because weak black hole activity is difficult to detect through conventional observations. Such black holes can still influence their surroundings through jets and outflows, affecting star formation and galactic evolution. The finding adds to astrophysical understanding of how galaxies evolve over time. It is relevant for science sections in competitive exams, especially topics related to astronomy, black holes and modern observational methods.
