President Murmu Confers Gallantry Awards 2026

President Droupadi Murmu honoured 51 personnel with gallantry awards during the Defence Investiture Ceremony 2026.

The awards included Kirti Chakra, Vir Chakra and Shaurya Chakra recipients from the Armed Forces, CAPFs and police organizations. Several awards were given posthumously in recognition of exceptional bravery. A Gaganyaan astronaut-designate was among the Kirti Chakra awardees. Such awards are frequently asked in competitive examinations.
