PMRC Scheme 2026 Applications Launched

The Ministry of Education launched applications for the Prime Minister Research Chair Scheme 2026.

The Prime Minister Research Chair Scheme 2026 aims to connect global Indian-origin researchers and professionals with India’s research and innovation ecosystem. The scheme covers 13 priority areas including AI, quantum computing, semiconductors, cybersecurity, biotechnology, space, defence and climate change. Seven premier institutions, including IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, IIT Kanpur, IIT Hyderabad, IIT ISM Dhanbad and IISc Bengaluru, have been identified as lead institutions. Applications opened from 1 June 2026 through the PMRC portal.
