PM Visits Seychelles, Announces New Bilateral Outcomes
Prime Minister Narendra Modi held official talks with Seychelles President Patrick Herminie during his state visit from 27-29 June 2026. Both sides marked 50 years of diplomatic relations and exchanged several MoUs and agreements covering UPI, health, agriculture, shipping, space, extradition and a new Line of Credit.
During the state visit, India and Seychelles reviewed their strategic partnership in the Indian Ocean region and released a commemorative logo marking 50 years of diplomatic ties. Official outcomes included development assistance, multiple sectoral MoUs and a Line of Credit worth INR 1250 crore. The package is important because Seychelles is a key maritime partner for India’s SAGAR and neighbourhood policies. The development is relevant for questions on India’s Indian Ocean diplomacy, digital payments expansion and maritime cooperation.
