New WPI Series With 2022-23 Base Released

DPIIT released the revised Wholesale Price Index series with base year 2022-23, replacing the earlier 2011-12 base series.

The Office of Economic Adviser under DPIIT released the revised series of the Wholesale Price Index with base year 2022-23. The new WPI series replaces the earlier series based on 2011-12. Along with WPI, new series of Output Producer Price Index, Trial Input Producer Price Index and Service Producer Price Index for selected services were also released. This is important for understanding inflation measurement, index revision and producer price statistics in India.
