National Panchayati Raj Ministers Workshop Held

The Ministry of Panchayati Raj organised a national workshop of state Panchayati Raj ministers to discuss stronger and more effective local governance.

The workshop brought together ministers and officials responsible for rural local governance in different states. Discussions focused on institutional strengthening, capacity building, digital governance and effective implementation of development programmes through Panchayati Raj Institutions. Panchayats constitute the rural local-government system established under the 73rd Constitutional Amendment. The meeting promoted coordination between the Union and state governments on decentralised governance.
