Loktak Protocluster Discovered by Indian Scientist

An international team led by Indian scientist Dr Ronaldo Laishram discovered the 12.6-billion-year-old Loktak Protocluster.

An international team led by Dr Ronaldo Laishram discovered an ancient galaxy structure named the Loktak Protocluster. The structure is about 12.6 billion light-years away and is named after Loktak Lake in Manipur. The discovery used observations from Japan’s Subaru Telescope and NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope. The finding helps scientists understand how dense cosmic environments influenced early galaxy evolution.
