Kharif Crop Area Coverage Data Released

The Agriculture Ministry released kharif crop area coverage data as of 19 June 2026, showing total sowing at 119.90 lakh hectares.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare released progress data on kharif crop area coverage as of 19 June 2026. Total area sown under kharif crops reached 119.90 lakh hectares, higher than 117.95 lakh hectares recorded on the comparable date in 2025. Rice sowing rose to 12.36 lakh hectares, while pulses increased to 7.21 lakh hectares. Shri Anna and coarse cereals also showed higher coverage, but oilseeds were lower compared with the previous year. The data is significant for understanding monsoon-linked agricultural trends and food security.
