ITBP’s First All-Women Expedition Successfully Summits Mount Everest

The Indo-Tibetan Border Police completed its first all-women international mountaineering expedition to Mount Everest.

The Indo-Tibetan Border Police completed its first-ever all-women international mountaineering expedition to Mount Everest. The 14-member team reached the 8,848-metre summit through the South Col route from Nepal. The expedition highlighted women’s participation in Central Armed Police Forces and promoted the Clean Himalaya–Save Glacier campaign. BSF’s all-women Mission Vande Mataram expedition also scaled Mount Everest as part of its Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
