INS Sudarshini reaches New York for Sail4th 250 celebrations

Indian Naval Sail Training Ship INS Sudarshini reached New York to represent India at the United States International Naval Review 250 and Sail4th 250 celebrations. The port call forms part of the 10-month Lokayan 2026 transoceanic expedition.

The Ministry of Defence said INS Sudarshini entered New York Port on 4 July 2026 and participated in the Parade of Sail along the Hudson River. The ship had earlier taken part in SAIL 250 events at Norfolk and Baltimore before berthing at Brooklyn for the New York celebrations. This development is important because it reflects India’s maritime diplomacy, naval outreach and symbolic participation in a major international commemorative event.
