India Unveils First Indigenous EXIM Shipping Container

India unveiled its first domestically manufactured EXIM shipping container as part of efforts to reduce import dependence in maritime logistics.

The indigenous container represents a step towards maritime self-reliance and domestic manufacturing of logistics equipment. India has traditionally depended significantly on imported containers for export-import cargo movement. Local production can improve container availability, reduce logistics vulnerabilities and support Indian manufacturers. The development is linked with the Container Manufacturing Promotion Scheme and the broader Maritime India Vision.
