India-UAE Leaders Discuss West Asia and BRICS

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the sidelines of the G7 Summit.

The leaders reviewed progress under the India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. They discussed cooperation in technology, trade, investment, energy and defence. The two sides also called for free, safe and unimpeded navigation, trade and commerce through the Strait of Hormuz amid West Asia concerns. Prime Minister Modi invited the UAE President to attend the BRICS Summit to be hosted by India later in 2026.
