India Releases New IIP Series

India released the first Index of Industrial Production data under the new 2022-23 base year.

The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation released the first IIP data under the new base year 2022-23. The Index of Industrial Production recorded 4.9% growth in April 2026. Manufacturing led the growth with a 6.2% expansion. The revised base year makes the index more aligned with current industrial structure and emerging production activities.
