India-Japan Adopt JCM Rules Under Paris Agreement

India and Japan adopted the Rules of Implementation for the Joint Crediting Mechanism under Article 6.2 of the Paris Agreement.

The Government of India and the Government of Japan adopted the Rules of Implementation for the Joint Crediting Mechanism on 8 June 2026, and the development was reported on 16 June 2026. The mechanism comes under Article 6.2 of the Paris Agreement and supports cooperative climate action through carbon-crediting arrangements.
