Goa Water Metro gets Phase-I priority

Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal announced Phase-I implementation priority for the proposed Goa Water Metro while inaugurating Goa’s new Captain of Ports Terminal Building.

The announcement was made in Panaji during the inauguration of a new ₹48.87-crore waterfront terminal building. The minister also highlighted Goa’s progress in maritime reforms, including its implementation of the Inland Vessels Act, 2021 and the state’s evolving maritime roadmap. The proposed Water Metro is expected to support sustainable and environment-friendly urban mobility through waterways. For exams, the event is relevant to transport infrastructure, inland waterways and maritime administration.
