DRI Seizes Methamphetamine and Smuggled Cigarettes

DRI seized 15 kg methamphetamine, 4 kg pseudoephedrine, 85 lakh smuggled cigarettes and two Pakistan-made pistols in nationwide operations.

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence conducted multiple operations against organised smuggling and transnational criminal networks. The seizures included 15 kg methamphetamine tablets, around 4 kg pseudoephedrine, nearly 85 lakh smuggled cigarettes and two Pakistan-made pistols. Five persons were arrested in connection with the operations. The case is important for internal security because it links narcotics, illicit trade and cross-border arms movement.
