Defence Land Solar Project Approved in Sitapur

Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh approved a 250 MW Solar-BESS project on defence land in Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh.

The Ministry of Defence approved the first large-scale Solar-BESS project on defence land at Sitapur in Uttar Pradesh. The project will be developed with 250 MW capacity and battery energy storage support. It aims to strengthen energy security for defence establishments while reducing long-term power expenditure. The project also links defence infrastructure with India's renewable energy transition.
