Cyber Crime Helpline 1930 to Be Modernised

Union Home Minister Amit Shah reviewed National Cyber Crime Helpline 1930 and directed comprehensive modernisation using advanced technologies including AI.

The review focused on strengthening citizen response mechanisms against cyber crimes, especially cyber financial frauds. The Home Minister directed the upgrade of 1930 Call Centres across States and Union Territories and the creation of a National-Level 1930 Call Centre to handle unanswered calls at the state level. The performance of the Citizen Financial Cyber Fraud Reporting and Management System was also reviewed. Around one lakh citizens have benefited from the Money Restoration and Grievance Redressal mechanism, while approximately 94 lakh bank accounts have been uploaded under the framework for potential fund restoration.
