Consensus Reached on Kishau Multipurpose Dam Project

Six participating states agreed to sign an MoU for the long-pending Kishau Multipurpose Dam Project for Yamuna rejuvenation.

A consensus was reached among Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Rajasthan on the Kishau Multipurpose Dam Project. The meeting was chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi. The project will be placed before the Union Cabinet after the signing of the MoU. The Centre will bear 90% of the cost of the water component as Central Assistance, while the remaining 10% will be shared by the participating states.
