Committee Formed Over Falling Totapuri Mango Prices

The Union Agriculture Ministry constituted a high-level committee to examine falling Totapuri mango prices and problems across the crop’s value chain.

The decision followed concerns about declining market prices received by Totapuri mango growers. The committee was tasked with examining production, procurement, processing, storage, marketing and export-related issues. Totapuri is an important mango variety used extensively by the food-processing industry. The review is expected to suggest measures for protecting farmers and improving value-chain efficiency.
