Centre Extends ALMM Relief for Solar Projects

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy extended limited ALMM List-II exemption for select solar projects until 31 December 2026.

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy clarified that there is no change in the overall ALMM policy. However, it extended a limited exemption from ALMM List-II for net-metering projects and open access renewable energy projects. These projects can now be commissioned with exemption from ALMM List-II for solar PV cells until 31 December 2026. The decision is relevant for India’s renewable energy deployment and solar manufacturing policy.
