BRICS Clean Coal Event Held

The Ministry of Coal organised a BRICS side event on clean coal technologies with a focus on coal gasification.

The Ministry of Coal organised a BRICS side event on Clean Coal Technologies with a focus on coal gasification. The event included participation from government officials, public sector enterprises, industry, technology providers and BRICS delegations from Russia, Ethiopia and the UAE. Coal gasification converts coal into syngas, which can be used for ammonia, methanol, hydrogen, synthetic fuels and other products. The ministry reiterated India’s target of gasifying 100 million tonnes of coal by 2030 through policy support, incentives and assured coal linkages.
