Biodiversity Day 2026 Celebrated

India observed International Day for Biological Diversity 2026 with the theme ‘Acting Locally for Global Impact’.

The national-level celebration was held at the Indian Institute of Forest Management, Bhopal. Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav attended the event. The programme highlighted local action, the Access and Benefit Sharing framework and community participation in conservation. Project Cheetah was also discussed as part of habitat conservation and scientific wildlife management.
