Assam-Nagaland Oil Operations MoU Signed

A tripartite MoU was signed between the Government of India, Assam and Nagaland to facilitate mineral oil operations in boundary areas.

The MoU creates a coordinated framework for mineral oil operations in the Assam–Nagaland boundary areas. It aims to ensure operational continuity, safety of personnel and assets, and coordination among stakeholders. The framework is expected to support exploration and production activities and encourage investment in the upstream petroleum sector. The agreement has significance for cooperative federalism, Northeast development and energy security.
